DT Spotlight - Leanne

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hello everyone!

For June I have a fun sea themed calendar page.  I always consider June a summer month and what better way to celebrate summer than under the sea?  I chose to use the adorable Narwhal and paired it up with that paper that contains some of the colors of the sea.  As you can see I also colored and fussy cut the image out.  When you think of June what do you think of?

I hope you enjoyed my post for June and found a little inspiration too.  Make sure to head over to the KBD etsy store for more fun images to play with.  Have a fabulous June everyone!

Until next time!!

So cute.  Love the paper and the colors... and how you colored up that little narwhal too!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to May!  Today I have another page to share from my Kitty Bee Designs themed 2016 calendar.

I paired up this sweet cow w/flower and some girly papers for a nice Spring May page.  After coloring up the cow I fussy cut her out, yes I love to fussy cut!  hahaha!  Adding the white border can be tricky, but I love doing it.  Some of you might think it's too hard, but with patience you can do it!  The sentiment says, "If friends were flowers I'd pick you"  I think it fits this to perfection.  I know this is short, but I hope you enjoyed it and found a little inspiration too.  Make sure to head over to the KBD etsy store for more fun images to play with and I hope you all enjoy a wonderful May!!

Until next time!!

Love this, how precious!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hello Friends,

Welcome to the first Monday of March and today my spotlight features this cool Boy's Day Bear.  I picked him to go on my non-traditional calendar page for March.  Now normally you would see tons of green, shamrocks, and a cute leprechaun.  Not on this calendar.  Instead I chose bright colors and a bear flying a carp flag.  Well I'm just having fun, I think it's always nice not to follow traditional styles especially when it's so predictable.  No there is nothing wrong with traditional, it's just fun to do non-traditional every once in a while.  Hope you'll do something non-traditional with your crafts today and don't forget to use a fun image from the Kitty Bee Esty store.  Until next time!!

This is definitely non-traditional for March!!  But it's just so bright and fun!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Hi Everyone!

Happy February!  It's great to be back after a nice break.  Hope you're all having a great start to 2016! Today I'm sharing this CAS (clean and simple) calendar page for my February spotlight.  I am using the very sweet iHeart digital stamp.  After printing and coloring this sweet bunny I fun cut her and popped her on to the fun pink heart patterned paper.  I then punched out a small heart and colored it to match the heart she is squeezing.  I chose a couple non-traditional colors (blue/green) to add with the pink because this is not your traditional styled calendar.  If you're interested to see the first page of my 2016 Kitty Bee themed calendar stop by my blog.  Until next time!!

What a super fun calendar!!  I absolutely love the colors you chose for this one!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Hello everyone!

It's the first Monday of October and for today's spotlight I thought I'd share this slightly altered Ninja Pup candy bar.  I used some old Halloween patterned paper to cover the bar, added an orange strap and built the center with random circles and more of that same Halloween paper.  After coloring up Ninja Pup I fun cut him out and popped him in the center.  You too can dress up some candy bars for a fun Halloween treat for your kids and co-workers.  There are tons of Halloween images at the Etsy store, click HERE to check them out.  Thanks for peeking in!!

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing well.  Today is the first Monday in September and I'm excited to share this sweet girly birthday card featuring Pleasantly Surprised Bear (retired).  I created this card for one of my crafty friends.  I mixed up some patterned papers from an older DCWV paper stack and used MFT blueprints #24 to create the simple layout.  It was nice to do a multi-layered card for a change, especially when I'm using up some older supplies.

September is looking to be jam-packed with lots of birthdays for me, so I best get back to it!  First I'll need to stop by the Kitty Bee Designs Etsy store to pick up a few more images.  They make super sweet birthday or any occasion cards.

Happy September, stay cool!

Old supply usage is something to be proud of!!  I know I am!!  haha.  Love the colors in this card, so cute!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hi everyone!

Can you believe we're now in August?!  Yikes!  Time sure is moving fast, hoping you're making the most of every day.  We've been having some really nice weather here in Southern Cal so it was a no brainer to try to make a fun & bright postcard featuring the Starfish Buddies digital image.  Yes you read correctly this is a postcard.  I've been making a bunch of these for the last few weeks and having fun in the process.  I used a Hero Arts stencil and some bright colored Distress inks for the background.  A couple embossed sentiments and I was done.

I love that this also coincides with our current Ocean/Water Animals challenge.  If you're stuck and can't find a suitable image pop on over to the Etsy store where you'll find the cutest images from Kitty Bee Designs, all you have to do is click HERE to get started!  And if I'm not mistaken should you decide to use one of our images you'll get an extra entry in to the drawing!  How can you beat that?  You can't!  hahaha!  Enjoy your crafting time and thank you for stopping by!

Happy August!

What a BEAUTIFUL background!!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had an enjoyable July 4th weekend!  I'm back with a spotlight post from me.  I thought I'd share this fun and bright birthday card I sent to a new friend.  She and I were swap partners and the theme was birthdays.  I knew Cupcake Surprise Pup was the perfect choice, and I just happened to have him already colored up.  Adding that bright patterned paper and the Mama Elephant words really added a couple of fun elements to my card.  And the card was flat, which is always nice on postage.  Doesn't hurt that the pup is adorable and who can resist a cupcake with yellow frosting and a green cherry on top?!  Yumm!  hahaha!  You can take your pick of the cutest images from Kitty Bee Designs, all you have to do is click HERE to get started!  Happy crafting!!

Happy July!

I love the bright colors in this card!  And the way you colored that pup is just amazing!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Hellooo Kitty Bee Designs friends & family!

Happy first Monday of June everyone!!  It's Leanne and for my June spotlight I have a fun graduation card to share. When I think of June I think of graduations and the many types of cards you can make for just this occasion.  Going with a CAS concept I printed off Kawaii Hug Me Owl colored him up and added a cute cap.  Yes, I could have picked any other image from the Etsy shop, but I think this owl looks very wise and with that graduation cap very distinguished.  I went a bit non-traditional for a graduation card by using gold and white washi paper.  I don't think I would think twice about giving this to a boy or girl, elementary or high school graduate.  Even possibly a college graduate.  Definitely works for all.

If you're looking for more images to transform for graduation or that special occasion all you need to do is head on over to the Etsy shop to get started!  Happy crafting!!

Happy June!!

That washi paper is just amazing.  And what a beautiful sentiment!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Hello Kitty Bee Designs friends & family!

Leanne here and I'm back to start off the month of April with another quick spotlight post.  I don't know about you but I'm always running out of cards for my stash.  The one that I don't have too many of are baby cards.  I used the cute sheep from the KDB Zodiac Set II in the Etsy shop to create the card above.  Other materials I used: MFT bib die, a fun embossing folder to give the white cardstock a nice texture, the sentiment is computer generated and the patterned paper is from my stash.
Keeping the card CAS was the key here.  Now I have something cute to add to my stash and use when the occasion arises.

Hoping this inspires you to create more with less and to add a Kitty Bee Designs image to make it the cutest!!  Happy April!!

How absolutely cute is this!!!  What a wonderful CAS card!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Today's spotlight is from Leanne of  Finding my Groove!

Hello Kitty Bee Designs friends & family!

Leanne here to start off March with a quick spotlight post.  I'm excited to share the above card featuring a few images from our Etsy store.  I have several friends I could send this card to but there is one in particular I think would get a kick out of receiving it.  We've been talking about having sushi and what better way to seal the deal than to send a personal kawaii invite?

On this card I used the following KBD stamps: Sushi buddies & Shoyu & wasabi buddies (minus the kawaii faces).  All can be purchased in the Etsy store.  Also used: a Cuttlebug embossing folder for an Asian feel backdrop and free-hand cut the chopsticks, and the "plates".  All colored with Copics.

I hope you enjoyed my share.  Have a terrific Monday and a fabulous March!

Super cute!!  Love those cute faces!!  Makes me a little hungry too!!  Make sure you swing by Leanne's blog and see what else she's up to!!

Hello!!
I'm excited to be back after a nice long break.  I hope everyone is doing great and that 2015 has been good to you so far!  :)  For my spotlight post I decided to share this lycee envelope with you.  This year the Chinese zodiac is the Wooden or Green Sheep.  Chinese New Year lands on February 19th according to the Chinese lunar calendar.  Thought I'd try to get ahead and make some lycee envelopes for my friends.  Going to the KBD Etsy shop I found the perfect little lamb to use.  He is part of a set of 3 in the KBD Zodiac Set II.  Did you know that there are 3 sets of cute zodiac stamps in the shop?  From time to time I take a peek at them and tell myself, I'm gonna use this one or that one next.  (hahaha) After printing him out and "fun-cutting" him I colored him with shades of browns and golds.  I finished off the envelope with a matching sentiment and some beautiful washi paper.  For more details come by my blog where you'll see what's inside the envelope.  Yep, it's a fun surprise.  (hehe) Thanks for stopping by today!!  See you soon!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Hello Kitty Bee friends & ohana!

After Thanksgiving it always takes me a while to really get in to Christmas card making.  This year I didn't have any trouble starting ahead of the game.  So if you're not feeling in the Christmas spirit yet I hope my card will jump start you.

I used this cute image called, Bun with Heart, on today's card using my Copics to give it a little Christmassy feel.  I'm actually thinking this would be the cutest card to send to someone who just recently had a baby.  I can always change out the sentiment if that's the direction I wanted to go in.   One of my favorite images, to use year round.  There are more sweet images in the Etsy store that you can purchase to create the perfect little card or project for some Christmas fun.

This is my last spotlight for 2014, I hope you have been inspired and that I've brought a little smile to your world.  Happy Holidays everyone and blessings for the New Year!

Cheers & lotsa Aloha,
Leanne

Hello! Hello!

It's the first Monday of the month and I'm back for a cute little upcycle project.  I saved this really cute treat bag from a swap I received and thought it would be fun to create something new with it.  Now I know it's a little rough around the edges, but adding some new elements makes it a totally new and fun project that can be sent on to someone else to enjoy.  Today's image is Giraffe cutie and just like the name this image is a cutie!!  I added some dies, pearls and some pink/white floss to give this bag some new life and in no time I was done.  For a full list of the supplies I used please feel free to pop on over to my blog

I hope you enjoyed this post and will think about upcycling and using a Kitty Bee Designs image to re-create something new & fun.  Here's a link to the etsy store to start shopping.  Mahalo for stopping by today!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Hello!

Say hello again to Frankin Owl.  I tried to go for a spooky scene in honor of Halloween.  I printed out quite a few of this adorable image as well as the MIC background.  I used Copics and Distress inks again.  Had fun with the scene.  This time I printed out Frankin owl fussy cut him and adhered him to the fence.  Matted the scene on to black cardstock and some orange cardstock then all on to a kraft card.  Pretty easy.

Hopefully you took advantage of the awesome sale from last month and picked up this guy along with all the other adorable images illustrated by Kitty Bee Designs owner, Ruth Johnson.  She's truly awesome!!  If you didn't no worries, head on over to the shop to pick him up along with any of the other cool images and add them to your collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

DT Spotlight - Leanne

Hey everyone!
Happy September 1st!!  Today is the first Monday of the month which means spotlight time.  It also happens to be holiday for us in the USA, it's Labor Day!  Woo Hoo!!  A well deserved one me thinks.   Have you gone through our Halloween blog hop yet?  If you have terrific, hopefully you've left comments on everyone's blog.  If not, you have some time left, the hop ends on 9/7 and we'll announce the winners on 9/9.  Click HERE to get started.

Now let's get on with my spotlight for today.  If you haven't already noticed, owner and illustrator, Ruth Johnson not only created some adorably cute images for Halloween and Christmas, but she added some awesome sea animals to the mix!!  I am so excited to share one of the new sea animals today, as it was one that I specifically asked for.  She did an awesome job putting her cuteness stamp on this digi...  This is my card featuring Narwhal Love I...

Cute yah?  I love how squishy they turned out.  This is actually one image that I printed out two more times in different sizes.  For fun I used different colors on these guys.  To create the sea I used Distress inks, an embossing folder, a wave border die, Stickles and some Perlen liquid. The wave border was layered on the bottom and one of the narwhals fit perfectly inside it.  Using the Perlen pen gives these guys the wet look I was going for.  Love that stuff!

There are two more narwhals in the store as well as some cute sea honus (turtles) you can pick up. Don't forget in honor of Labor Day, Ruth is offering up the following coupon code:
  • 15% off coupon, use code 'Labor15' at check out
  • Offer good between 8/29 and 9/5
  • Can be used on your purchase for both clear and digital stamps
  • **Customers who spend $50 or more get a Mahalo (thank you) coupon for 20% off a future order. (Mahalo coupon expires 9/30)
Now's your opportunity to stock up on some really adorable Halloween, Christmas and sea animal images!  Head on over to the Etsy shop now...

Alrighty, thanks a lot for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day!
